서울대도시권의 통근 네트워크 구조 분석

본 연구는 사회네트워크 분석방법을 적용하여 1990-2000년 동안 서울대도시권의 통근통행의 네트워크 구조가 어떻게 변화되어 왔으며, 어느 결절점이 통근 네트워크에서 지배적이고 중심적인 역할을 하고 있는가를 분석하려는데 목적을 두었다. 지역간 통행량에 대한 OD행렬을 토대로 하여 서울대도시권의 통근 네트워크를 구축하여 그 구조적 특성을 분석해본 결과, 유입 통근네트워크 구조는 점차 복잡해지면서 소수의 결절점에 집중되는 경향을 보이는 반면에 유출 통근네트워크 구조는 오히려 세 개의 연결체계로 분할되어가는 경향을 보이고 있다. 본 연구에서는 통근 네트워크상에서 각 결절점의 연결중심성, 근접중심성, 그리고 위세중심성을 각각 산출하여 이들간의 상관관계도 분석하였다. 통근통행 패턴의 관점에서 서울대도시권의 중심지 계층성을 분류하기 위해 각 결절점의 총통근통행량과 통근 네트워크상에서 산출된 위세중심성 값을 통합화한 지수를 산출한 후, 이를 기준으로 서울대도시권내 중심지 계층성을 분석하였다. 그 결과 강남구가 최상위 계층으로, 성남, 수원, 송파구가 2차위 계층으로 분류되었으며, 부천시와 고양시도 계층성이 높게 분류되었다, 이는 수도권 신도시 개발의 영향력이 크게 작용하면서 서울로 유입되었던 경기도의 통근통행량을 이들 신도시들이 상당히 흡수하여 서울대도시권의 새로운 통근 중심지로서의 역할을 강화해나가고 있음을 말해준다.

Abstract

The purposes of this study are to identify the changes in network structure of commuting flows and to analyze dominant and central nodes in the commuting network in the Seoul metropolitan area for the period of 1990-2000, using social network analysis. As a result of analyzing structural characteristics of commuting network in Seoul metropolitan area based on OD matrix of the inter-regional flows, in-commuting network structure, as becoming more complicated, tends to concentrate in a small number of nodes, while out-commuting network structure shows the tendency of partitioning into three sub-network system. This study tried to analyze the correlation between degree-centrality, close-centrality, and prestige-centrality of each node on commuting network. Moreover, to classify the central place hierarchy within Seoul metropolitan area in the aspect of commuting pattern, the integrated index is calculated by each node? total commuting flows and prestige-centrality. Gangnam-gu is classified as 1st level of hierarchy, and Sungnam, Suweon, Songpa-gu are classified as the 2nd level. Also Bucheon and Goyang showed a relatively high level of hierarchy. This means that those new towns in Seoul metropolitan area are strengthening their status as new commuting centers in Seoul metropolitan area by absorbing the commuting flow.
