Abstract

The search for genuine creative motives, principles of creation, and main subject of Guanzhui bian remain a long-term academic cold case despite it’s importance and attention. This article is one of a series of attempts to identify this. In the introduction of this paper, I reexamine my previous research methodology and present the concepts of ‘metaphorical current news keyword motive’ and ‘metonymical current news keyword motive’. Chapter 2 of this paper provides a Korean translation for the 2nd and 3rd paragraph in 6th essay of Shiji huizhu kaozheng in Guanzhui bian and then performs a related analysis. Through this, it is argued that the motive of the paragraph is a series of articles of People’s Daily in which a specific current affairs phrase containing the words “longzhong” and “tiaozao” is used, and the classic text of the paragraph was chosen simply for a ‘metaphorical’ reason that the words in the above current affairs phrase could be derived. Chapter 3 of this paper provides a Korean translation for the 1st paragraph in 6th essay of Shiji huizhu kaozheng in Guanzhui bian and then performs a related analysis. Through this, it is argued that the motive of the paragraph also is a series of articles of People’s Daily in which a specific current affairs phrase containing the words “heigui” and the prefix “lao” is used, and the classic text of the paragraph was chosen simply for a ‘metaphorical’ reason that the words in the above current affairs phrase could be derived. In conclusion, I present future methodological goals and explore the possibilities of ‘AI cross-validation’.
