Abstract
The purpose of this study is to verify accuracy in the cut-points of intensity for children by comparatively analyzing five kinds of cut-points(Freedson, 2005; Puyau, 2002; Treuth, 2004; Pate, 2006; Evenson, 2008) that were developed from counts in uniaxial accelerometer of ActiGraph. To achieve this objective, it convenience sampled 78 children(142.40±7.60㎝, 40.10±10.27㎏, 11.11±1.02yr) who are attending elementary school where is located in Y city, Gyeonggi-do. The following conclusions came to be elicited. According to a rise in physical activity intensity, the oxygen uptake, heart rate, and uniaxial accelerometer counts grew. The epoch length in 1 minute, 30 seconds, and 15 seconds of oxygen uptake and uniaxial accelerometer showed significant correlation(p<.01). As a result of comparing accuracy of classification between the standard activity intensity and the activity intensity, which was changed into cut-points, by using ROC curve, all of the five cut-points failed to divide excellently. However, cut-points in Freedson, Puyau and Pate showed accuracy of classification in fair level in one intensity out of moderate intensity and vigorous intensity activities. In the moderate-vigorous intensity activities, all of the three estimated equations showed accuracy of classification in good level. Accordingly, cut-points in Freedson, Puyau and Pate are judged to be likely able to be employed usefully when aiming to estimate time, frequency or activity pattern that children participate in moderate-vigorous intensity physical activities throughout the day.
