인권교육이 학생의 인권인식에 미치는 영향: 인권친화적 학교문화 및 환경의 조절효과를 중심으로

본 연구의 목적은 인권교육이 청소년 인권인식에 미치는 영향을 학교문화 및 환경 요인이 어떻게 조절하는지를 파악하는 것이다. ‘인권’은 일상생활의 경험과 직접 관련이 있는 주제이며, 청소년에게는 학교가 일상생활의 많은 부분을 차지한다는 문제의식에서 본 연구는 출발한다. 따라서 인권친화적 학교 문화 및 환경이 인권교육의 효과를 긍정적으로 혹은 부정적으로 조절하는지 여부를 검증하였다. 연구 목적을 달성하기 위하여 한국청소년정책연구원의 2020년 「아동·청소년 인권실태조사」 자료를 사용했으며 인권교육과 학교문화 및 환경의 상호작용항을 투입한 OLS방식의 회귀분석으로 가설을 확인하였다. 연구결과, 학교인권존중, 학교만족도, 동료폭력 경험여부는 인권인식에 대한 인권교육의 영향에 정적인 조절효과를 보였으며, 교사의 체벌여부는 부적인 조절효과를 보였다. 연구 결과를 바탕으로 인권친화적 학교문화 및 환경 조성의 필요성을 제언하였다.
Abstract
The purpose of this study is to identify school culture and environmental factors that moderate the effect of human rights education on students’ human rights awareness. ‘Human rights’ is a subject directly related to daily life, and this study starts with the fact that school accounts for a large part of students’ daily life. Therefore, the research hypothesis is that human rights-friendly school culture and environment can positively moderate the effectiveness of human rights education. In order to achieve the research purpose, using the 「2020 Children and Youth Human Rights Survey」 data by the National Youth Policy Institute (NYPI), regression analysis including the interactive term was used. The results were as follows. The respect for human rights in the school, the school satisfaction of students, and experience of peer violence showed a positive moderating effect, whereas the experience of corporal punishment from teachers showed a negative moderating effect. Based on the findings, the necessity of creating a human rights-friendly school culture and environment was suggested.
