만주어사전 『어제청문감』(1780)의 사전학적, 언어학적 의의

Qing Dynasty, which emerged as the leader dominating the East Asian in the 17to 18 century, compiled the modern-concept dictionary that contained semanticinterpretation of vernacular language, which was the Manchu languagedictionary(1708) created by Han i araha manju gisun i buleku bithe(HMB), theemperor of Qing Dynasty. This dictionary was published in a very early period as linguistic dictionary thatprovided semantic interpretation of vernacular language, excluding theDictionnaire de l'Académie française(French Academy Dictionary, 1694) whichcan be said to be the first full-fledged French-French dictionary. In particular,Manchu language Dictionary(HMB, 1708) incorporated unique principles andformat in terms of the system, classification, selection of heading, interpretation ofmeaning, etc. Although this dictionary adopted non-traditional encyclopedicclassification method from the standpoint of macro structure, it has moderndictionary format in terms of polysemy and synonym processing, etc. Specifically,this dictionary emphasized ordinary meaning of words and adoptedlexicographical meaning in limitedly metaficated some words. In addition, this dictionary provides detailed presentation and explanation witha focus on example cases for grammatical functional words such as postposition,endings, dependent noun, auxiliary predicate, etc., which are parts of diversegrammatical morpheme in Manchu language, an agglutinative language, andtherefore can be an important reference that has clear linguistic significance.
