근린지역의 소득혼합과 이웃신뢰 및 관계에 관한 연구 : 소득계층별 차이를 중심으로

초록

사회적 혼합 정책이 거주민 간의 신뢰와 관계에 미치는 영향을 분석하는 연구는 국내외에서 활발히 진행되고 있지만, 기존 연구는 대부분 아파트 단지나 도시 수준으로 분석되어 이웃 개념의 공간범위를 적절하게 반영하지 못하는 한계가 있다. 또한, 사회적 혼합 정책의 효과는 주민의 사회경제적 지위에 따라 달라질 수 있으나, 기존 연구는 대부분 소득과 관계없이 전체 주민을 대상으로 평균효과만을 분석한 한계가 있다. 이와 같은 한계를 극복하기 위하여, 본 연구에서는 서울시를 대상으로, 근린 수준에서의 소득혼합이 이웃에 대한 신뢰 및 관계에 미치는 영향에 대해 거주민의 소득계층에 따라 유의미한 차이가 있는지를 탐색하고자 한다. 서울서베이를 활용한 다수준 순서형 로지스틱 분석 결과, 근린 수준에서의 소득혼합이 이웃에 대한 신뢰 및 관계에 미치는 영향은 거주민의소득에 따라 상이한 것으로 나타났다. 구체적으로 소득이 높을수록 소득혼합 지역에 거주하면, 상대적으로 이웃에 대한 신뢰 및 관계에 미치는 영향이 부정적인 것으로 나타났다. 그러나 저소득층은 소득혼합 지역에 거주하면, 이웃신뢰 및 관계 지표에 유의미한 영향을 주지 않는 것으로 나타났다. 본 분석 결과는 향후 사회적 혼합 정책을 설계할 때 정책의 효과가 소득계층마다 어떻게 달라지는지를 고려할 필요가 있음을 시사한다.

Abstract

There are numerous studies analyzing the impact of social mixing policies on trust and relationships among residents. However, as most existing studies have analyzed this impact at the apartment complex or city level, they have not accurately captured the actual spatial boundaries that define neighbors. Furthermore, most of the existing research has focused on the average effects on all residents, regardless of their income levels. To overcome these limitations, this study explores whether the influence of income mixing at the neighborhood level on trust and relationships among neighbors varies significantly depending on the income levels of the residents. Using the Seoul Survey data and Multilevel ordinal logistic regression analysis, the results showed that the influence of income mixing at the neighborhood level on trust and relationships among neighbors varies depending on the resident's income. Specifically, the higher the income, the more negative the impact of residing in mixed-income areas on trust and relationships with neighbors. For the low-income group, living in mixed-income areas did not have a significant impact on trust and all of the neighbor relationship indicators. These findings provide important policy implications by highlighting the varied effects of social mixing policies across resident groups.
