우리말샘에서의 제주방언 현황과 개선 방안

이 연구의 목적은 『우리말샘』에서 나타나는 제주방언의 실현 양상을 살펴보고, 방언 표제어의 표기와 뜻풀이 그리고 용례에 관한 몇 가지 문제점 및 개선 방안을 제시하는 것이다. 『우리말샘』은 다양한 제주방언 어휘의 정보를 제공하고 있어서 사용자들이 쉽게 제주방언 어휘의 뜻을 파악할 수 있으며, 여러 지역방언 어휘들의 정보도 제공하고 있어 방언 보존의 측면에서 상당한 의의를 지니고 있다. 그럼에도 불구하고 『우리말샘』에 등재된 제주방언에는 수정 및 보완해야 할 것들이 존재하였다. 표준어에 비해 제주방언 어휘들에서는 관련 정보가 적게 수록되어 있었으며, 동음이의어 혹은 유의어와 관련하여 등재된 어휘들의 기준이 명확히 제시되지 않았다. 특히, 대부분의 방언 표제어의 용례가 제시되어 있지 않았으며, 일부 실린 용례들도 정교하게 기술되어 있지 못한 한계를 지니고 있었다. 이러한 문제점을 해결하기 위해서는 무엇보다도 제주방언 연구자 및 화자들을 집필진 및 감수진으로 확충할 필요가 있다. 아울러 기구축된 여러 말뭉치 자료들을 수집하고, 보다 다양한 용례들을 사전 등재어에 포함하여 사용자들이 쉽게 검색 및 활용할 수 있게 해야 한다.
Abstract
The purpose of this study is to examine the current status of the Jeju dialect appearing in Urimalsaem and suggest some problems and improvement measures regarding the headword, meaning, and usage of the entries. Users can easily grasp the meaning of Jeju dialect vocabulary because various Jeju dialect vocabulary are listed in Urimalsaem rather than the Standard Korean Dictionary and Korea Korean Dictionary, which can be searched on the existing web. Furthermore, it can be said that Urimalsaem has considerable significance in terms of dialect preservation in that it provides information on various Jeju dialect vocabulary. However, there were things to be revised and supplemented in the Jeju dialect registered in Urimalsaem. Compared to the standard language, Jeju dialect vocabulary contained less related information, and the criteria for vocabulary registered in relation to homonyms or significant words were not clearly presented. In particular, it was also possible to find cases where incorrect explaining the meaning was presented. In addition, no example sentences were presented in most dialect registered words, and some of the written examples had limitations that were not elaborately described. In order to solve this problem, above all, it is necessary to expand Jeju dialect researchers and speakers to writers and inspectors. In addition, by collecting various corpus data, more diverse use cases should be included in all dictionary registered words so that users can easily search and utilize them.
