한국어 방언 성조와 역사 층차 — 상고 중국어 재구를 위한 탐색

각 시대 또는 여러 언어에서 발견되는 성조 현상은 상고 중국어 재구에서 중요한 위치를 차지하고 있다. 베트남어에 남아 있는 성조 현상 역시 이에 상당한 기여를 했다. 한국도 오랫동안 중국과 관계를 맺어왔으며 성조 기록이 풍부하게 남아 있으나, 연구 확장성 면에서는 제한적이다. 중국어음 역사 연구에 있어서는, 현대 중국어 방언이 매우 중요한 자료로 간주되고 있다. 특히 상고 중국어음 연구에 있어, 기존의 연구와는 차별되는 새로운 연구 자료로서 방언의 중요성이 부각되고 있다. 중국어음 역사 연구는 오랜 전통과 역사를 갖고 있다. 여기에 방언이라는 살아 있는 언어 자료의 문백이독(文白異讀) 등에 남아 있는 역사 층차를 통하여, 기존의 문헌 중심 연구에서 진일보하고 있다. 이에 본고에서는 다음과 같은 점에 주목한다. 중국어음 연구에 있어 방언의 역사 층차 문제를 어떻게 다뤄 왔는지, 경상 방언에서 사동과 피동 접사로 -a 가 들어간 음절의 유형학적 특징 및 기존의 한자어 유래 단어와 대립항을 이룰 경우 20세기 이후 유입된 새로운 층차의 1음절 차용어에 고장조(高長調) 기제를 유표성(markedness)으로 사용하는 예와 이처럼 새로운 층차가 나타나는 원인을 살펴본다. 문헌 중심의 기존 연구와 차별화함으로써, 이를 중국어음의 역사 층차 연구 맥락과 연관시켜 해석한다.
Abstract
Tonal phenomena found in several period or in many languages occupy an important place in the reconstruction of old Chinese. The tone phenomenon that remains in Vietnamese has also contributed significantly to this. Korea has long had relations with China, and records of tonal tones remain abundant, but the scalability of the study is limited. In the study of Chinese phonological history, modern Chinese dialects are regarded as very important research materials. In particular, the importance of dialects is being emphasized as a new research materials that is different from previous studies in ancient times. The study of Chinese phonological history has a long tradition and history. Here, through the chronological strata remaining in the literary-colloquial differentiating reading of living language materials, especially in Gyeongsang dialects, it is breaking away from the existing literature-centered research. Therefore, in this paper, we examine the following points: how the chronological strata of dialects has been dealt with in the study of historical Chinese phonology; What are the typological characteristics using high long tone in case of syllables containing -a as an active and passive suffix in Gyeongsang dialects; When monosyllabic words borrowed from English since the 20th century are opposed to existing words supposed to be loan words from Chinese, how those examples of using the high long tone system as markedness for a new strata in the current dialects look like, as much as the reason why they appear. In short, this paper tries to differentiate it from the existing literature-centered Gyeongsang diaelcts’ ton research and interprets it in relation to the context of chronological strata research on the historical Chinese phonology.
