양간의 『자호춘추해』에 대한 시론적 연구

양간(楊簡)의 『자호춘추해(慈湖春秋解)』는 『춘추(春秋)』 전체에 대한 체계적인 주석서로서, 송대(宋代) 춘추학(春秋學)의 흐름을 살펴볼 수 있는 자료이자, 심학 계열 학자에게서는 드문 경학 저술이기에 송대(宋代) 심학(心學)의 경학관을 엿볼 수 있는 자료라는 점에서 학술적 가치가 매우 높다. 이 논문은 양간(楊簡) 『자호춘추해(慈湖春秋解)』의 경학적 의미와 심학적 특징을 이해하기 위한 시론적 연구이다. 이 논문의 주요 논점은 두 가지이다. 먼저 일실된 것으로 알려졌다가 다시 그 전승이 확인된 현존『자호춘추해』의 형식적 특징과 전문 주석서로서의 위상을 검토하였다. 다음으로『자호춘추해』 저술 의도와 특징을 살펴보기 위해 송대 춘추학의 주요 논의 주제들이 『자호춘추해』에 어떻게 수용 및 반영되고 있는지 살펴보았다. 송대 춘추학의 주요 주제는 세 가지이다. 첫째, 『춘추』는 역사서인가 아니면 경전인가. 둘째, 『춘추』의 화이관에 대한 시각은 어떠한가? 셋째, 리학(理學)의 춘추학을 상징하는 호안국의 『춘추호씨전』에 대한 입장은 어떠한가? 두 가지 논점에 대한 분석을 통해 이 논문은 현존 『자호춘추해』가 양간의 저술로서 그의 학문적 특징을 잘 반영하고 있다는 점, 그리고 송대 춘추학의 지평을 확대할 수 있는 주요 저술이자 춘추학의 심학적(心學的) 전개를 보여줄 수 있는 가치 있는 저술이라는 점을 확인하였다.
Abstract
Yang Jian(楊簡)’s CiHuChunQiuJie (慈湖春秋解) is a systematic commentary on the entire the Spring and Autumn Annals (Chunqiu 春秋). This work holds significant academic value as it provides insight into the flow of the Studies of Spring and Autumn Annals in the Song Dynasty, and Moreover, as a rare Confucian classics written by a scholar of the XinXue(心學), offering a unique perspective on Confucian thought within the XinXue tradition of the Song period. This paper is a preliminary study to understand two aspects of Yang Jian’s CiHuChunQiuJie: its Confucian hermeneutical meaning and its characterization as XinXue. There are two main points of this paper. First, I reviewed the formal characteristics and status as a specialized commentary of the extant CiHuChunQiuJie, which was known to have been lost and whose transmission has been confirmed again. Second, in order to understand the intent and distinctive features of CiHuChunQiuJie, the study analyzes how the main topics of discussion in Spring and Autumn Studies of the Song Dynasty were accepted and reflected in the CiHuChunQiuJie. There are three main themes of Spring and Autumn Studies in the Song Dynasty. First, the debate is over whether the Spring and Autumn Annals should be regarded as a historical record or a Confucian scripture. Second, what is the perspective on the distinction between China and foreigners in the Spring and Autumn Annals. Third, what is the position on the ChunQiuHuShiChuan (春秋胡氏傳), a work written by Hu Anguo(胡安國). Through this analysis, the study reaches the following three conclusions about the CiHuChunQiuJie. First, it is a work that well reflects Yang Jian’s academic characteristics. Second, it is a work that can expand the horizons of Spring and Autumn Studies during the Song Dynasty. Third, it is a valuable work that can show the development of Spring and Autumn Studies from a XinXue perspective.
