본 연구는 영아기 자녀를 둔 어머니의 양육역량을 인지적, 정서적, 그리고 관계 지향적 차원을 유기적으로 연계․통합하여 관련 프로그램을 개발하고, 그 효과를 검증하는 데 목적을 두었다. 연구대상은 영아기 자녀를 둔 어머니 40명으로, 실험집단 20명과 통제집단 20명으로 배정하였다. 실험집단의 어머니들은 총 14회기, 주 2회, 회기당 90분의 양육역량 강화프로그램에 참여하였다. 프로그램은 비대면과 대면 방식을 병행하여 어머니 주도적 참여에 초점을 두었으며, 어머니의 양육지식과 양육효능감을 증진하고 이를 통해 영아기 자녀 양육에서 기인 될 수 있는 양육스트레스를 감소하는 내용으로 구성되었으며, 기질적 조화적합성 수준을 높이고자 하였다. 그 결과, 실험집단의 어머니는 통제집단에 비해 양육지식과 양육효능감, 그리고 기질적 조화적합성 수준은 본 프로그램 참여 이전보다 향상되었으며, 양육스트레스 수준은 사전에 비해 유의미하게 감소하였다. 또한 역량 강화프로그램에 참여한 실험집단 어머니의 자녀들은 전반적인 발달의 영역에 있어 유의미한 긍정적인 변화가 나타나, 향후 영아기 자녀를 둔 부모교육프로그램 실제에 함의점을 제시한 점에서 의의가 있다.
Abstract
This study aimed to develop a maternal competence enhancement program that integrates cognitive, emotional, and relational dimensions for mothers with infants, and to examine its effectiveness. The participants were 40 mothers of infants, who were assigned to an experimental group (n＝20) and a control group (n＝20). The experimental group participated in a 14-session program, conducted twice weekly for 90 minutes each. The program employed both online and in-person formats, emphasizing mothers’ active participation. Its content was designed to improve parenting knowledge and parenting efficacy, to reduce parenting stress arising from infant caregiving, and to promote higher levels of mother-infant goodness of fit. Results indicated that mothers in the experimental group, compared to those in the control group, showed significant improvements in parenting knowledge, parenting efficacy, and levels of goodness of fit, along with a significant decrease in parenting stress. Furthermore, infants of mothers who participated in the program demonstrated meaningful positive changes across overall developmental domains. These findings offer practical implications for early parenting education programs aimed at strengthening maternal competence through integrated and structured interventions.
