이 글은 이충진의 반론에 대한 글이다. 그는 필자의 칸트 윤리학 해석에 대한 비판을 통해 칸트 윤리학을 옹호하고자 한다. 이런 그의 반론에 응하면서 필자는 칸트 윤리학에 대한 헤겔의 비판이 어떤 점에서 여전히 의미가 있는가를 입증하고자 한다. 특히 헤겔의 칸트 윤리학 비판을 통해 헤겔의 인륜성 철학의 기본적 통찰들이 무엇인가를 해명하는 방식으로 글을 서술한다. 헤겔의 인륜성 철학의 핵심적 통찰은 칸트의 경우처럼 도덕의 물음을 오로지 사람들의 동등대우라는 보편적 원칙에 환원하지 않고 연대성과 사랑 및 배려라는 관계 역시 보편적 권리 인정 못지않게 인간의 바람직한 삶을 가능하게 하는 삶의 도덕적 지평임을 강조하고 있다. 그리고 이런 인륜성 철학은 오늘날 큰 영향력을 행사하는 자유주의적인 정의이론이나 하버마스적인 절차주의적인 민주주의 이론보다도 인간의 삶의 역사성과 현장성을 바탕으로 모든 인간의 의미 있는 삶의 가능성에 대한 보다 풍요로운 시야를 제공해줄 수 있는 유력한 사상이다. 그러므로 이 글에서는 칸트의 보편주의적인 도덕이론 및 권리 중심의 사유로부터 헤겔의 인륜성 철학으로의 이행의 필연성에 대한 몇 가지 주요한 논거들이 제시될 것이다.
Abstract
The article addresses Lee, Choong Jin's counter-argument. Lee aims to support Kant's ethics by criticizing the author's interpretation of Kant's ethics. The author aims to counter Lee's argument and to confirm the ways in which Hegel's criticism of Kant's ethics holds meaning to this day. In particular, the author will identify and define the basic ideas of Hegel's theory of ethical life(Sittlichkeit) through Hegel's criticism of Kant's ethics. The fundamental idea of Hegel's theory of ethical life is that the questions of ethics are not limited to the universal principle of equal treatment for all humans, as Kant asserts, but that solidarity, love and care are ethical horizons that enable good life for humans, just as the fulfillment of the universal rights do. Furthermore, the theory of ethical life is very promising in that it can provide a broader perspective regarding the possibility of meaningful life for all humans based on the reality and historicity of human life; a broader perspective than the liberal theories on justice or Habermasian proceduralistic democracy theory (both of which are currently influential) offer. Therefore, this article will propose several key bases regarding the necessity to move on from Kant's universal moral law and reflections focused on rights to Hegel's theory of ethical life.
