본 논문은 사사기 4장과 5장을 분리하여 해석하는 통시적 접근에서 벗어나 두 장의 연결성과 대칭 구조를 비교 연구한다. 야엘과 시스라의 어머니 사이에서 역동적으로 표현되고 있는 연결점을 구조주의 비평으로 분석하여 야엘과 시스라 그리고 시스라의 어머니에게 발견되는 대조적인 ‘어머니-아이’ 모티프를 해석한다. 이를 통해 여인 야엘의 영웅화, 남성 지도자의 무력함과 같은 핵심 주제를 문학적으로 강조하고 있음을 밝힌다.
Abstract
This paper analyzes Judges chapters 4-5 through the literary methodology of structural criticism, thereby profoundly exploring the text’s internal dynamics and the author’s intent. This approach confirms the importance of a critical method that structurally derives the meaning inherent in the text, going beyond mere historical facts. Specifically, the process of using the critical tools of others to complete one’s own interpretive structure and formulate questions enabled a key insight: a focus on the parallel structure of the mother-child motif found in the stories of Jael and Sisera’s mother.
