1920년대 이후 김억은 유성기음반의 가사를 발표했는데, 그 가운데 상당수는 스스로 ‘시’라고 밝혔다. 이러한 작품들은 김억이 유성기음반의 가사를 ‘시’의 다른 존재 양상으로 여기고 있었음을 시사한다. 김억은 이미 음조미를 갖추고 있다면, 유행가의 가사도 충분히 ‘시’로 볼 수 있다는 견해를 밝혔고, 또한 그가 고안한 ‘격조시형’ 75조는 유행가 형식에 대단히 적합한 형식이기도 했다. 이러한 이론과 실천을 통해 김억은 국민시가의 이상을 체현하고자 했다. 또한 그의 유성기음반 가사는 대체로 서도잡가를 근간으로 이루어진 것이었다. 그것은 우선 근대적인 의미의 시가 등장하는 가운데 근대 이전의 문학, 음악 장르가 여전히 의미 있는 자산으로서 그 생명력을 연장하는, 좀처럼 보기 어려운 한국문학사의 한 국면이다. 그리고 1920년대 한국근대시가 서구지향으로부터 전통회귀로 옮겨가는 현상은 물론, 문자텍스트가 아닌 음성텍스트를 중심으로 한 문학관의 등장을 시사한다는 점에서 중요한 가치가 있다. 한편 김억의 유성기음반 가사 창작은 기타하라 하쿠슈 등 일본 근대시인들의 영향으로부터 이루어진 것이기도 했다.
Abstract
After 1920's Kim, Uk released 73 pieces popular song lyric by phonograph disk, and 40 pieces out of them he designated as 'poetry'. Such literary work means he regards popular song lyric as different form of 'poetry'. He thought if popular song lyric has euphony, metre, and other poetic conditions that allowed to be 'poetry'. Also his 'set-form verse' was very suitable form for popular song lyric. In this theory and practice, Kim, Uk intend to realize ideal of 'National Poetry' though notional popular song. Especially His popular song lyric are mainly made out influence of 'Seodojapga'(Northwestern Korean Folk song). It means traditional literature, Music genre has still influence on formation of modern poetry, and 1920's Korean poetry return to traditional from western inclination. As well as It is an appearance of literal viewpoint which based on Oral text. In this regard it is a rare example of modern korean literature history. Moreover Kim, Uk's popular song lyric writing is influenced by modern Japan poet's popular song lyric writing. It reveals an characteristic aspect of modern poetry in not only korean but also japan.
