오늘날의 미디어는 환경 그 자체라고 할 수 있다. 일상생활은 각종 미디어가 양산한 이미지들로 점철되어 있다. 본 연구는 주체적 개입이 불가능한 일상 속에 투명하게 존재하는 자본화된 스펙터클을 다시 한번 무대로 올리면서, 현시대의 미디어 환경을 비판적으로 고찰해보고자 한다. 일상은 여전히 지루하고 반복하는 매일이지만, 미디어는 고도의 테크놀로지로 빠르게 발전하고 있다. 따라서 본 연구는 영화 비평 담론에서 주된 문제틀로 소환되어왔던 계급, 사회구조, 이데올로기와 같은 추상적인 개념을 포함하되, 현재의 일상생활을 반영한 구체적이고 실질적인 미디어의 사례들을 통해 후기자본주의 시대의 변화된 일상생활의 의미와 전망을 예측해보려는 의도를 갖는다. 스펙터클의 본질이 바로 인간의 감각 중에서도 시각적 인지에 편중되어 있다는 점에 입각해 자본이 일상의 수면을 어떤 방식으로 수탈하고 있는가를 살피고, 미디어가 자연을 향수의 감성으로 상품화하는 전략을 살펴본다. 또한 동시대 한국 사회에서 일어나는 구조적 현상을 흥행영화인 <엑시트>를 통해 살펴봄으로써 실생활에서 구체적인 미디어의 사용과 스펙타클의 전용의 사례를 추적해 본다. 본 연구의 사례 중심의 최종적 목표는 사회 현상과 영화의 간격을 좁힘으로써, 현재의 대중 소비 경향과 정치적 경향을 보다 쉽게 해석할 수 있는 영화의 비판적 관점을 다시 한번 고취하고자 한다.
Abstract
Today's media can be said to be the environment itself. Everyday life is dotted with images mass-produced by various media. This study aims to critically examine the media environment of the present age, once again putting the capitalized spectacle that exists transparently in everyday life where subjective intervention is impossible. Daily life is still boring and repetitive, but media is rapidly developing with advanced technology. Therefore, this study includes abstract concepts such as class, social structure, and ideology that have been summoned as the main problem frame in the discourse of film criticism, but through concrete and practical media examples that reflect current daily life, changed daily life in the post-capitalist era. It is intended to predict the meaning and prospect of Based on the fact that the essence of spectacle is concentrated on visual perception among human senses, we examine how capital exploits everyday sleep, and examine strategies for the media to commercialize nature with the sensibility of nostalgia. In addition, by examining the structural phenomenon occurring in contemporary Korean society through the hit movie <Exit>, we trace examples of specific media use and appropriation of spectacle in real life. The final goal of this study's case-based approach is to once again inspire a critical perspective on film that can more easily interpret the current mass consumption and political trends by narrowing the gap between social phenomena and film
