Abstract
In this study, the relationship of psychological contract violation was examined as an antecedent of resistance that occurs in the process of organizational change. In addition, this study aimed to empirically verify the relationship with organizational cynicism to clarify the process such a relationship goes through. In order to verify the research model, 277 questionnaire responses were collected from workers currently employed by companies and were analyzed. The results of this study are as follows. All research hypotheses were supported with statistical significance. First, psychological contract violation had a positive(+) effect on resistance to organizational change, and psychological contract violation had a positive(+) effect on organizational cynicism. Also, organizational cynicism had a mediating effect on the relationship between psychological contract violation and resistance to organizational change. Based on these results, theoretical and practical implications, as well as the limitation of the research and future research directions were discussed.
