Abstract
Eco-friendly products are a key topic in sustainable consumption. In this study, we estimate the mean willingness to pay for green products using a DBDC(double bounded dichotomous choice) model. Also the differences between a public product and a private product are assessed in terms of consumers’ willingness to pay for eco-friendly products. We found that the mean WTP is 16823.59 won and the estimated premium based on a reference price is 68.23%. In addition, the results indicate that the degree of green products’ visibility increases consumers’ willingness to pay, which implies that marketers need to consider the features of eco-friendly products.
