서정시의 극적 재현과 담화양식

이 논문은 서정시에서 가능한 극적 재현과 범주를 담화양식과 관련하여 이론적으로 검토하고 실제 극적 서정시의 예를 들어 점검하고자 한 것이다. 이를 정리하면 다음과 같다. 첫째는 ‘극적 독백양식’인데, 특정의 인물인 극적 화자가 시적 청자 없이 발화하거나 특정의 인물인 극적 청자가 아닌 시적 청자에게 발화하는 경우이다. 고정희의 <호세 리잘이 다시 쓰는 시>를 들어 점검하였다. 둘째는 ‘극적 배역양식’인데, 특정의 인물인 극적 화자가 특정의 인물인 극적 청자에게 발화하는 경우이다. 서정주의 <추천사: 춘향의 말 1>을 들어 점검하였다. 셋째는 ‘극적 인용양식’인데, 한 화자의 발화이지만 하나의 발화에 직접 인용되는 발화가 겹쳐 이중발화가 되는 경우이다. 김소월의 <먼후일>을 들어 점검하였다. 넷째는 ‘극적 대화양식’인데, 둘 이상의 화자에 의한 둘 이상의 발화인 대화로 이루어져 있는 경우이다. 황지우의 <아무도 미워하지 않는 자의 죽음: 잉게 숄 저, 박종서 역ㆍ청사靑史ㆍ188면ㆍ값 1,900원>을 들어 점검하였다. 다섯째는 ‘극적 혼합양식’인데, 두 가지 경우로 구분할 수 있다. ‘담화양식적 혼합’은 극적 독백, 극적 배역, 극적 인용, 극적 대화 가운데 둘 이상의 담화양식이 혼합된 경우이다. 황동규의 <악어를 조심하라고?>를 들어 점검하였다. 보다 상위의 장르론에서 혼합양식을 보이는 경우 즉, 서정시가 극적이고 서사(서술)인 혼합양상을 보이는 경우 ‘장르론적 혼합’이 된다. 임화의 <우리 오빠와 화로>를 들어 점검하였다. 서정시 내에서의 장르론적 혼합을 넘어 이보다 더 상위의 층위에서 장르론적 혼합을 보이는 경우는 서정시의 범위를 넘어선 것이 된다. 극시와 서사시 그리고 이 둘이 혼합된 시가 바로 그것이다. 보다 상위의 층위에서 장르론적 혼합을 살펴보는 일은 본 연구를 넘어선 것이므로 따로 살펴야 할 문제가 된다.
Abstract
This paper aims to explore the dramatic representation within lyrical poetry, and to investigate the types of dramatic discourse forms of lyrical poetry theoretically and practically. In terms of descriptive generic criticism, any lyrical poems are dramatic. The results of the investigation are summarized as the following. First, the paper investigates that the dramatic discourse forms of lyrical poetry are five types theoretically, that is, the ‘dramatic monologue’ form, the ‘dramatic character’ form, the ‘dramatic quotation’ form, the ‘dramatic dialogue’ form and the ‘dramatic mixture’ forms. Second, it investigates that the ‘dramatic monologue’ form is the dramatic speaker addresses his speech to the non-dramatic listener, the ‘dramatic character’ form is the dramatic speaker addresses his speech to the dramatic listener. Third, it investigates that the ‘dramatic quotation’ form is the poetic speaker addresses his speech to the poetic listener through the direct quotation within the lyrical poem, the ‘dramatic dialogue’ form consist of the live conversation between the speaker and the listeners alternately. Fourth, the paper argues that the ‘dramatic mixture’ forms are classify the two types, that is, ‘discourse formal mixture’ and ‘generic mixture’. The ‘discourse formal mixture’ is the mixture more than two types among the ‘dramatic monologue’ form, the ‘dramatic character’ form, the ‘dramatic quotation’ form and the ‘dramatic dialogue’ form. Finally, it is claimed that the dramatic representation of lyrical poems are made on the base of five types of dramatic discourse forms practically through the application of modern Korean lyrical poems.
