초록
This paper shows how the meaning of verb DAT’ ‘give’ in Russian can be described by constructional point of view in the basis of corpus data. In the typical case it means an act whereby a person (the GIVER) passes with the hands control over an object (THING) to another person (the RECIPIENT). Its typical meaning extends to the figurative meanings in various constructions through the cognitive mechanism such as the conceptual metaphors, metonymy and others. In this paper I analyzed the meaning of the verb DAT’ as the argument structures and the constructions in which it is used. Also I categorized its lexical meaning in the frame of Construction Grammar. By examining the extended meanings of the verb DAT’ in the different constructions, I schematically described the argument structures in different constructions such as ditransitive, causative and transitive, showing their connections.
