본 논문의 목적은 연결어미 ‘-어서’ 구성이 다양한 의미를 드러내도록 하는 요인으로서 ‘-어서’ 구성의 구조적 특징을 살펴보는 것이다. 이를 통해 ‘-어서’라는 연결어미 및 결합한 어휘적 맥락에 이외에 관계 맺는 의미 층위에 따라서도 관계 의미가 달라질 수 있다는 점을 확인하였다. 특히 ‘-어서’ 구성이 단독으로 의미 실체를 갖지 않는 경우 술어, 사태, 명제, 화행 층위의 의미 실체를 수식하여 내용을 구체화하거나 적용 범위를 한정하는 역할을 한다는 것을 밝혔다. 앞으로 의미 층위에 따라 서로 교체되어 쓰일 수 있는 연결어미의 의미·기능을 비교하는 작업이 필요하다.
Abstract
The purpose of this paper is to examine the structural features of the “-eoseo” configuration as a factor that allows the connection-ending “-eoseo” configuration to reveal various meanings. Through this, it was confirmed that the meaning of the relationship may be also different depending on the level of meaning involved in addition to the connected ending and the combined vocabulary context. In particular, when the ‘-eoseo’ composition does not have a semantic entity alone, it is revealed that it plays a role of specifying the content or limiting the scope of application by modifying the semantic entity at the level of predicate, situation, proposition, and speech act. Simultaneously, we examined the effect of ‘-eoseo’ on the syntactic characteristics and relationship meanings seen accordingly, and in the future, it is necessary to compare the meanings and functions of connection endings that can be used interchangeably according to the semantic layers.
