건국 이래 우리나라는 도덕과와 사회과에서 정치교육을 실시하여 왔다. 그동안 초등학교 도덕과와 사회과에서 다루어진 정치교육의 내용을 비교하는 것은 양교과의 역할 분담과 교과의 정체성을 규명하기 위한 매우 중요한 의미를 지닌다고 볼 수 있다. 따라서 본 연구에서 먼저 정치교육의 의미와 목표 그리고 필요성 등을 선행 연구를 통해 고찰해볼 것이다. 둘째로 초등학교의 도덕과와 사회과에서 실시해온 정치교육의 내용 변화를 살펴볼 것이다. 셋째로 양교과에서 다루고 있는 초등학교 정치교육의 내용을 비교해볼 것이다. 끝으로 양교과에서 실시한 정치교육 내용의 적합성과 향후 영역 분담의 바람직한 방안을 구안하고자 한다.
Abstract
Since the foundation of Korea, its political education has been done by moral education and social studies education. Because of the fact, it is very important to compare the political education done by moral education with that by social studies education to find out the roles of each subject and the identity of political education. Firstly, this paper, therefore, is going to consider the meanings and goals of political education first, and then its necessity through prior researches. Secondly, this paper is going to examine how political education of elementary schools by both sides has been changed. Thirdly to check if the political education by them is different or not. Lastly, this paper is going to try to find out the desirable contents of political education by the moral education part and the social studies education part and the desirable role allotments of both sides.
