교사교육에서 딜레마를 활용한 ‘도덕적 성찰’의 필요성

본 연구는 교사교육에서 딜레마를 활용한 ‘도덕적 성찰’의 필요성을 해명하는데 그 목적이 있다. 그동안 도덕적 딜레마를 활용한 도덕적 추론이나 도덕적 판단에 관한 연구는 주로 ‘이론적인 성찰’에만 초점을 두고 있었다. 하지만 교사가 ‘반성적 실천가’로서 성장하려면, ‘실천적인 성찰’, 즉 교사가 가진 배경적 신념, 교사의 행동을 이끄는 기준, 딜레마를 다루는 기술 등과 같은 실제적인 요소도 함께 통합적으로 가르쳐야만 한다. 사실, 교사교육에서 교사들의 도덕적 품성을 기르는 일은 무엇보다도 중요하다. 왜냐하면 교사들의 행동은 학생들의 역할모델이 되기 때문이다. 따라서 교육대학이나 사범대학 등 교원양성기관에서는 도덕적 품성을 지닌 올바른 교사를 양성하기 위해 학교현장에서 직접 당면할 수 있는 실제적인 딜레마를 토대로 하여 ‘도덕적 성찰’을 수행할 수 있도록 그 방법을 체계적으로 교육할 필요가 있다.
Abstract
The purpose of this study is to emphasize the necessity of moral reflection through dilemma in teacher education. The researches of moral reasoning and moral judgment were only focused on theoretical reflection. However teachers as reflective practitioners have to be experienced in practical reflection, which includes such things as background beliefs, standards of action guidelines, and skills of dilemma managing. In fact, pre-service teachers should be trained as moral agents in teacher training institutions. The reason for this training is that teachers can act as role models for their students. By using the findings of this study, pre-service teachers would actually be confronted with ‘moral reflection’ by real life dilemma in a school setting. Finally, these findings suggest that practical reflection needs to be considered systematically in teachers education.
