내러티브와 심성 함양: 목소리, 경청 그리고 관계성을 중심으로

초록

본 연구에서는 심성 함양을 위한 내러티브가 갖추어야 할 조건이 무엇인지를 탐색하기 위하여, 먼저 도덕성 발달 연구에서 내러티브 접근이 이론적 모태로 하고 있는 길리건과 바흐친의 관점을 관계의 내러티브라는 공통된 관심사에 비추어 그 특징과 의의를 살펴보았다. 그런 다음, 학생의 서사 행위에 주된 초점을 두는 도덕성 발달의 내러티브 접근이 과연 심성 함양을 위한 내러티브의 조건을 갖추고 있는지를 검토하였다. 연구 결과에 따르면, 심성 함양을 위한 내러티브의 조건을 탐색하기 위해서는 내러티브 접근이 이론적 모태로 하고 있는 관계의 내러티브 관점, 그중에서도 길리건의 ‘다른 목소리’와는 ‘또 다른 목소리’인 바흐친의 관점에 특별히 주목할 필요가 있다.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to inquiry the relativity between narrative and cultivating for moral mind based on the perspectives of narratives of relationship, especially voice, listening and relativity. In order to explore what conditions a narrative of cultivating for moral mind must have, first, in the study of moral development, the view of Gilligan and Bakhtin, whose narrative approach is the theoretical basis, is considered in light of the common interest of narratives of relationship. Then, the recent perspective that focuses mainly on students’ narrative behavior, which is advocating a narrative approach for moral development, has examined whether or not the conditions of narrative for cultivating for moral mind are true. And I tried to find an alternative view. According to the results of the study, in order to properly explore the conditions of the narrative for cultivating for moral mind, it needs a special attention should be paid to narratives of relationship that narrative approach is the theoretical basis, and especially Bakhtin’s view as ‘another different voice’ from Gilligan’s view as ‘a different voice’.
