Abstract
Moral resilience refers to intentionally selecting and practicing a way of preserving one's moral integrity, minimizing one's moral distress, and pursuing the best moral purpose in the face of moral challenges, dilemma, and uncertainty. Since the 2015 revised moral education curriculum did not specify in detail the definition of resilience or its relationship with moral education, moral resilience in moral education did not receive much attention. Therefore, based on a systematic analysis of moral resilience research in the health care field, this paper aims to present the validity of moral resilience as a moral skill to be taught to students in moral education. To achieve this purpose, I systematically analyzed the backgrounds and conceptual definitions of moral resilience, the five attributes and results of moral resilience, and methods for cultivating moral resilience, and then proposed the promising follow-up research directions to effectively utilize the concept of moral resilience in moral education.
