Abstract
This study reinterprets moral agency as an integrated capacity encompassing cognitive, emotional, and behavioral dimensions, drawing on the concept of student agency presented in the OECD Education 2030 framework. By examining the theoretical perspectives of Bandura, Kohlberg, and Narvaez, the study conceptualizes moral agency as a process involving the problematization of moral situations, reflective deliberation, and responsible action. Based on this framework, the study reviewed a P4C-based lesson applied to the 3rd-grade Unit 8, “Exploring a Better World,” which was reconstructed in connection with the Korean language reading curriculum. This examination illustrates the educational potential of Philosophy for Children (P4C) as an approach that can support moral agency by providing opportunities for students to generate questions, engage in inquiry, and participate in meaning-making processes within moral contexts.
