Abstract
The purpsoe of this study is compare and analyze the achievement emotions of Chinese music major students and non-music major students in the three achievement situations of class, study, and exam, and seeks the influence of music education on the positive achievement emotions. For this, an independent sample t-test was conducted to compare the achievement emotions of music major students and non-music major students by achievement situation (class, test, learning). Eight achievement emotions in class and learning situations, and six achievement emotions in test situation were compared and analyzed by music major and non-music major college students. Chinese music majors showed higher positive achievement emotions and lower negative achievement emotions than non-music majors. Currently, general universities provide music education to general major students through liberal arts subjects, but most students do not recognize the importance of music classes and do not take music subjects to take other subjects. This can be attributed to the school institution’s lack of awareness of the importance of music education and the lack of efforts by professors to induce interest in music subjects. Therefore, school authorities should prepare an educational environment that can increase students’ positive achievement emotions through music education.
