연구 목적: 이 연구의 목적은 현대 사회학자로 알려진 니콜라스 루만의 이론을 근대 독일관념론자들의 여러 예술철학과 같이 비교하며 유사성을 정리하고자 한다. 연구 방법: 루만은 ‘예술’을 독립된 논제로 다루지는 않았다. 실제로는 여러 가지 단편화되고 사후에 재구성된 루만의 예술저작으로부터 독일관념론과 연관시키는 것은 맥락적 독해가 필요하다. 특히 독일관념론에서부터 이어져온 자의식의 개념과 자기준거개념을 비교하고자 한다. 연구 내용: 우선, 루만의 사회학이 칸트, 셸링과 같은 독일관념론은 자의식 개념을 출발점으로 하고 있음을 밝힌다. 또한 예술철학이 가지는 기반이 단순히 감각에 기반을 둔 미학이 아니라 시대의 윤리학, 역사까지도 아우르는 삶의 철학 전체의 모습과 닮아 있음을 증명해 나가는 과정이 루만과 독일관념론은 서로 유사하다는 점을 밝힌다. 결론 및 제언: 그러므로 독일관념론뿐만 아니라 해석학자 딜타이의 예술철학의 방법론은 루만의 자기준거에 기반한 사회철학까지 이어진다.
Abstract
This study compares the theory of Nicholas Luhmann, known as a modern sociologist, with the various art philosophies of modern German idealists and tries to sort out the similarities. Luhmann did not treat ‘art’ as an independent topic. In reality, it requires a contextual reading to relate to German idealism from various fragmented and posthumously reconstructed works of Luhmann’s art. Luhmann’s concept of art is based on the concept of self-consciousness that has been inherited from German idealism. To summarize this: First, German idealism, such as Luhmann’s sociology or Schelling, takes the concept of self-consciousness as a starting point. Second, the foundation of the philosophy of art is not simply aesthetics based on the senses, but resembles the whole of life that encompasses the ethics of the times and even history. Third, the problem of parts and wholes found in the tradition of organic theory or Dilthey’s hermeneutics extends to Luhmann.
