이 논문은 심미적 주체성에 있어서 칸트와 니체의 ‘취미’(Geschmack) 개념을 고찰한다. 칸트의 취미판단을 통해 대상에 대해 심미적 쾌감을 느끼는 심미적 주관의 특징을 분석하고, 이를 바탕으로 삶과의 관계에서 미적 실존으로서 심미적 삶을 실현시키는 심미적 주체성 형성과정을 니체의 삶의 취향을 통해 제시한다. 다시 말해 이 글은심미적 주체성을 구성하는 핵심요소인 심미적 쾌감을 칸트의 취미판단으로 분석하고이를 바탕으로 삶에서 심미적 주체로 형성되는 과정을 니체의 삶의 취향으로 밝히고자 한다. 이 연구는 칸트와 니체의 공통 개념인 ‘취미’로 연결함으로써 칸트 철학적 미학과 니체의 예술론을 연결하려는 하나의 시도이다.
Abstract
This paper examines the concept of “taste” (Geschmack) in the context of aesthetic subjectivity as articulated by Kant and Nietzsche. By analyzing Kant’s judgment of taste, it explores the characteristics of aesthetic subjectivity, which is the experience of aesthetic pleasure in relation to objects. Building on this, the paper presents the process of forming an aesthetic subjectivity which actualizes an aesthetic life as an aesthetic existence in relation to life itself, as expressed through Nietzsche’s concept of the Taste of Life. In other words, this study seeks to analyze aesthetic pleasure—an essential component of aesthetic subjectivity—through Kant’s judgment of taste and, based on this analysis, elucidate the process of becoming an aesthetic subject in life through Nietzsche’s Taste of Life. This research represents an attempt to connect Kant’s philosophical aesthetics with Nietzsche’s philosophy of art through their shared concept of “taste.”
