연구 목적: 이 연구는 개인의 위험지위에 따른 복지태도의 차이가 정치적 신뢰, 특히 정책에 대한 평가 수준에 따라 달라지는지를 탐색하려 한 것이다. 이는 정책에 대한 신뢰가 개인의 이해관계에 따른 복지태도의 차이를 조절한다는 논리를 따른 것이다. 연구 방법: 연구를 위해 한국복지패널 8차 자료에 응답한 만 19세 이상 성인 2,343명을 분석대상으로 삼았다. 개인의 위험지위는 생활보장수단의 차이를 반영하는 방식으로 잠재집단분석을 통해 도출하였다. 정책평가의 조절효과는 위계적 회귀분석으로 확인하였다. 연구 내용: 정부정책에 대한 평가가 긍정적인 경우, 개인의 위험정도가 낮더라도 복지정책에 대한 지지가 높다는 사실을 확인하였다. 이는 정치적 신뢰 수준이 높으면 이해관계에 따른 복지정책에 대한 지지격차가 경감한다는 기존의 연구결과들과 일치하는 것이다. 결론 및 제언: 연구결과를 바탕으로 복지정책에 대한 정치적 균열을 줄이는데 있어 정부의 정책 효과성 제고가 필요함을 주장하였다.
Abstract
The purpose of this study is to explore if the differences in welfare attitudes according to risk status could be changed by political trust, expecially, the level of policy evaluation. This follows the logic in which political trust moderates differences in welfare attitudes according to individual self-interest. For this study, this study analyzed total 2,343 adults who responded to the 8th Korean Welfare Panel Study. As the method reflecting differences in the mean of living security, the individual risk status was drawn through the latent class analysis. The moderating effects of political trust were verified through the hierarchical regression analysis. As a result, in case the evaluation of government policy was positive, the support for welfare policy was high even when the individual risk status was low. This accords with the results of the previous researches reporting that high political trust reduces the gap of support for welfare policy according to self-interest. Based on this, this study argued the necessity to enhance the effectiveness of policy in reducing political cleavage related to welfare policies.
