Abstract
The term, Strategic Communication, recently began to spread in the South Korean military community from the ROK-U.S. Combined Forces Command. The South Korea military needs to study the concept in-depth before accepting and applying it to its doctrine. It should correct the Korean translation first. However, South Korea can use it as a convenient conduit to strengthen cooperation with U.S. in dealing with North Korea and the countries in the region. It could also draw some lessons from the failure or success of the Strategic Communication efforts of the U.S. South Korea should make long-term and systematic efforts to establish good national images to the world in order not to repeat the failure of the U.S.
