Abstract
The study aims to analyze the factors affecting citizens' willingness to comply with police orders and to verify the medial effects of police trust in the process. To achieve the purpose of such research, the analysis was conducted based on data obtained by selecting variables that are expected to affect citizens' willingness to comply with police orders by analyzing existing domestic and foreign prior research. The analysis results are as follows. First, none of the independent variables selected according to the analysis of preceding research were found that directly affected citizens' willingness to comply with the police's. Second, the recognition of procedural fairness and effectiveness of police activities was shown to affect the compliance of the police order through the medium of police confidence, which could confirm the full mediated effect of police confidence. In other words, citizens who believe that police activities are conducted fairly according to procedures, and that the police's original duty of criminal control is effectively done, are more likely to trust police, and this kind of police trust affects citizens' willingness to comply with police orders. Therefore, it is important for the police to follow procedures, make decisions based on objective facts, and effectively carry out police activities to increase the public's confidence in the police in order to show a more accommodating attitude and behavior toward the police.
