이 연구는 경찰협력의사에 영향을 미치는 요인들을 분석하고 이 관계 속에서 절차적 공정성, 경찰신뢰, 경찰효과성이 어떻게 경찰협력의사에 영향을 미치는지 검증하는 것을 목적으로 한다. 일반 시민 543명을 대상으로 절차적 공정성과 경찰협력의사 간의 관계에서 경찰신뢰의 매개효과와 경찰효과성의 조절된 매개효과를 검증하기 위해 위계적 중다회귀분석을 활용한 SPSS Macro Process v4.0가 이용되었다. 연구결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 절차적 공정성은 경찰협력의사에 유의한 영향을 미쳤다. 둘째, 절차적 공정성과 경찰협력의사 간의 관계에서 경찰신뢰의 매개효과가 유의했다. 마지막으로 높은 수준의 경찰효과성은 절차적 공정성이 경찰신뢰를 매개하여 시민의 경찰협력의사를 설명하는 관계를 조절하였다. 이 연구 결과는 시민의 경찰협력의사를 설명함에 있어 절차적 공정성과 경찰신뢰가 영향을 미치는 요인임을 검증했고 시민의 경찰협력의사를 증진시키기 위해서는 경찰효과성 수준을 높일 수 있는 정책의 필요성을 시사한다. 따라서 경찰조직에서 절차적 공정성을 확보하기 위한 교육 및 지원이 수행되고 이와 더불어 시민들에게 경찰효과성을 증가시키는 노력까지 동반된다면 일반 시민들의 자발적인 경찰협력의사를 증가시킬 수 있을 것이라 제언한다.
Abstract
The purpose of this study is to analyze the factors influencing the intention of police cooperation and to verify how procedural fairness, police trust, and police performance affect the intention of police cooperation in this relationship. SPSS Macro Process v4.0 and hierarchical multiple regression analysis were used to verify the moderated mediating effect of police trust and police performance in the relationship between procedural fairness and police cooperation by conducting a survey of 543 adult men and women living in Seoul and utilized them for analysis. The results from the analysis are summarized as follows. First, Procedural fairness had a significant influence on police cooperation. Second, The mediating effect of police trust was significant in the relationship between procedural fairness and police cooperation. Third, a high level of police performance moderated the mediating effect of police trust in the relationship between procedural fairness and police cooperation. The results of this study verified that procedural fairness and police trust are influential factors in explaining citizens' intention to cooperate with the police, suggesting the need for policies to increase the level of police performance in order to promote citizens' intention to cooperate with the police. Therefore, it is suggested that if education and support are provided to ensure procedural fairness in the police organization and also efforts to increase police performance are accompanied, it is expected that it will be able to increase the willingness of ordinary citizens to voluntarily cooperate with the police.
