이 논문은 시 창작 과정에서 창작자의 비유적 상상력을 인지적인 관점에서 활 용하고, 그것을 통해 창작된 시의 미적 효과에 주목했다. 비유적 상상력을 활용한 시 쓰기를 위해 10명의 학생을 대상으로 실험을 진행하였다. 실험에 참여한 학생 들은 1시간 내외의 시간을 활용하여 주어진 제재를 활용하여 시를 창작하였다. 학생들의 시를 분석한 후, 비유적 상상력을 활용한 시 쓰기 방법을 제안하였다. 이 과정에서 비유적 상상력이 선명하게 노출되는 시를 사례로 제시하면서, 시의 소재를 어떻게 시의 제재로 활용하는지, 그리고 시의 제재를 인간 삶의 한 국면을 드러내기 위해 어떻게 비유적인 상상 활동을 전개하는지 이해시켰다. 학생들이 비유적 상상력을 발휘하여 시에 활용하는 방법을 충분히 이해하게 한 후, 그것을 활용하여 학생들이 창작했던 시를 수정하도록 하였다. 이렇게 비유적 상상력을 활용하여 시를 창작함으로써 학생들은 자기의 존재 의미를 발견하고, 세계와 인간 존재의 상호작용을 이해하며, 시적 상상력을 통해 세계 질서를 창조할 수 있었다.
Abstract
This paper examines the cognitive application of figurative imagination in the process of poetry creation and its aesthetic effects on the resulting poems. An experiment was conducted with ten students who were tasked with writing poems using a given subject within approximately one hour. After analyzing the students' poems, a method for writing poems using figurative imagination was proposed. During this process, examples of poems that vividly exhibit figurative imagination were presented to illustrate how the subjects are used as the foundation for poetry and how figurative imagination develops to reveal aspects of human life. After ensuring that students fully understood how to employ figurative imagination in their poetry, they were encouraged to revise their poems accordingly. By utilizing figurative imagination in their poetry creation, students were able to discover the meaning of their existence, understand the interaction between the world and human existence, and create a sense of order in the world through poetic imagination.
