경찰직무교육훈련 만족도에의 영향요인에 관한 연구

초록

교육훈련이란 조직구성원의 일반적 소양과 능력을 개발하고, 직무수행에 필요한 지식과 기술을 향상시키며, 가치관과 태도를 바람직한 방향으로 변화시키는 인사행정활동이다. 이 연구의 목적은 경찰교육훈련의 주요요소들 중에서 어떤 요소가 교육생의 만족도에 통계적으로 유의미한 영향을 미치는지를 살펴보고, 분석결과에 기초하여 경찰교육훈련의 만족도를 향상시킬 수 있는 방안들을 제안하는 것이다. 이 연구의 조사대상자는 경찰직무교육의 대부분을 전담하고 있는 경찰교육원의 교육생 248명을 대상으로 하였고, 독립변수는 교육 및 생활시설의 편의성, 외래강사의 전문성, 교수요원의 전문성, 교육내용의 실무활용 가능성, 교육생의 자존감 5개 변수이며, 종속변수는 교육생의 만족도이다. 회귀분석의 결과, 유의수준 .05에서 종속변수인 교육생의 만족도에 통계적으로 유의미한 영향을 미치는 독립변수는 교육 및 생활시설의 편의성(β=.307), 교육내용의 실무활용 가능성(β=.255), 교육생의 자존감(β=.237), 교수요원의 전문성(β=.153) 4개 변수인 것으로 나타났다. 그러나, 4개의 인구사회학적 변수들(성별, 연령, 학력, 계급)은 교육생의 만족도에 유의미한 영향을 미치지 않는 것으로 나타났다. 따라서, 이 연구의 결과로서 경찰교육훈련의 교육생 만족도를 향상시키기 위해서는, 교육 및 생활시설의 편의성을 증진시키고, 실무활용 가능성이 높도록 교육내용을 구성하고, 교육생의 자존감을 높이며, 교수요원의 전문성을 향상시킬 필요가 있다.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to analyze the factors affecting the satisfaction of police education and training. This study conducts the survey on 248 policemen trained in Police Training Institute on April and July, 2013. By factor analysis, convenience of training facility, non-police instructor's specialty, police instructor's specialty, possibility for practical application, and trainee's self-esteem are grouped as the dependent variables. And the independent variable is trainee's satisfaction. The results of this study reveal that trainees' satisfaction is affected statistically by the convenience of training facility(β=.307), possibility for practical application(β=.255), police instructor's specialty(β=.237), the trainee's self-esteem(β=.153). But, trainees' satisfaction is not affected statistically by demographic variables(sex, age, education, rank). Therefore, to elevate the trainees' satisfaction, police training department must make the effort for increasing the convenience of training facility, possibility for practical application, police instructor's specialty, the trainee's self-esteem.
