독자의 의미와 작문 교육의 방향-바흐친의 독자관을 중심으로-

이 글에서는 그동안 수사학, 문예학, 작문 교육학 분야에서 제안된 다양한 독자 개념을 검토하면서 작문 교육에 시사하는 바를 도출하고자 하였다. 특히, 바흐친의 독자관에 근거하여 기존 독자 개념을 비판적으로 검토함으로써 독자에 대한 새로운 인식과 감수성을 형성하고자 하였다. Ⅱ장에서는 바흐친의 독자관을 명확하게 정립하기 위하여 바흐친 사유를 관통하는 주요 개념인, ‘적극적인 반응과 창조적 이해’, ‘상호텍스트성’, 그리고 ‘종결불가능성’에 대하여 살펴보았다. Ⅲ장에서는 독자를 1)저자 내 독자, 2)텍스트 내 독자, 3)실제 독자로 분류하고, 바흐친 관점에서 비판적으로 재해석하였다. 먼저, 저자 내 독자에서는 베르켄코터, 페렐만의 독자 개념을, 텍스트 내 독자에서는 에드와 런스포드, 파크, 컬러, 에코의 독자 개념을 검토하였다. 실제 독자는 ‘다중 청중’과 ‘단일 청중’을 비교하여 그 차이를 검토하였다. Ⅳ장에서는 바흐친의 독자 개념과 다른 여러 논자들의 독자 개념을 바탕으로 작문 교육의 방향을 제안하였다. 즉, 1)실제 독자와의 접촉 경험, 독자로서의 읽기 경험을 통한 응답적 감수성 함양, 2)보편 청중 지향을 통한 저자와 독자의 합리성 제고, 3)형식주의에 대한 새로운 관점의 형성을 제안하였다.
Abstract
This paper tries to find out the concepts of various readers suggested in the fields of rhetoric, literature and composition educations in order to get their implication in composition education. Especially, this paper critically reviews the conventional concept of the reader based on Bakhtin’s view of readers in order to construct a new position of the reader. In Chapter II, three concepts contained in Bakhtin’s ideology were reviewed in order to clearly establish the Bakhtin’s view of readers. In Chapter III, the readers existing in various ways were classified into 1)reader in writer, 2)reader in text and 3)real reader and they were critically reviewed. In Chapter IV, the direction of the composition education was suggested based on Bakhtin’s concept of reader. 1)enhanced answerable sensibility through experience of contact with a real reader and the reading experience as a reader, 2)enhanced rationality of a writer and a reader through the setting of the universal audience, 3)formation of new viewpoints on the formalism.
