이 글은 슬픔과 상처를 겪는 존재들의 웃음 유발을 표상하고 있는 소설들에 나타난 웃음의 유발 요인과 표상 방법을 살펴보고, 웃음의 서사에 나타난 웃음 유발자의 감정적 격동을 논의하였다. 그리고 웃음의 서사적 의미를 서사적 정체성의 면에서 탐색하고, 웃음 유발자의 슬픔과 상처와 같은 감정적 격동이 치유되는 양상을 살펴보았다. 그런 다음, 웃음의 서사에 나타난 웃음 유발자의 서사적 정체성을 이해함으로써, 독자가 현실에서 겪는 감정적 격동을 치유하여 서사적 정체성을 발달시키는 과정을 살펴보았다. 논의 결과, 웃음의 유발 요인에는 무해한 실수, 기계적 경직성, 성격적 결함, 무해한 규범의 일탈 등이 있으며, 웃음의 표상 방법에는 반복, 뒤집기, 교차, 전환 등이 있음을 알 수 있었다. 웃음의 서사적 의미 작용에는 악마적이면서도 심오하게 인간적인 면 구현, 개인적인 행동 교정, 사회적인 행동 교정 등이 있음을 알 수 있었다. 그리고 웃음의 서사적 의미 작용은 인간의 삶을 이해하기 위한 기제가 되며, 삶의 다층성을 이해하고 해석하는 통로가 됨을 알 수 있었다. 끝으로 웃음 유발자의 감정적 격동과 치유 이해를 통해 독자가 서사적 정체성을 발달시키는 양상은 ‘웃음 유발자의 감정적 격동과 서사적 정체성 이해하기’, ‘감정적 격동과 서사적 정체성에 나타난 가치, 믿음 등을 통해 웃음 유발자의 자아 개념 해석하기’, ‘웃음 유발자의 감정적 격동과 서사적 정체성 분석을 통해 세계 내 존재로서 독자 자신의 감정적 격동 파악하기’, ‘감정적 격동에 대한 파악을 통해 서사적 정체성의 양상 분석하기’, ‘서사적 정체성 분석을 통해 자신의 믿음이나 가치 체계 해석하기’, ‘믿음이나 가치 체계 해석을 통해 바람직한 믿음이나 가치 확장하기’ 등으로 나뉠 수 있음을 알 수 있었다.
Abstract
This article examines the causes of laughter and representation methods in novels representing laughter triggers of beings suffering from sadness and wounds, and discusses the emotional turbulence of laughter triggers in the narrative of laughter. In addition, the narrative meaning of laughter was explored in terms of narrative identity, and the aspect of healing emotional turbulence such as sadness and wounds of laughter triggers was examined. Then, by understanding the narrative identity of the laughter inducer in the narrative of laughter, we looked at the process of developing the narrative identity by healing the emotional turbulence that the reader experiences in reality. As a result of the discussion, it was found that the causes of laughter include harmless mistakes, mechanical rigidity, character defects, and harmless deviations of norms, and the methods of representing laughter include repetition, reversal, crossing, and transition. It can be seen that the narrative semantic action of laughter includes devilish yet profound human aspects, personal behavior correction, and social behavior correction. And it can be seen that the narrative semantic action of laughter becomes a mechanism for understanding human life and a channel for understanding and interpreting the multilayered nature of life. Finally, It can be seen that readers develop narrative identity through emotional and healing understanding of laughter triggers it can be divided into ‘understanding emotional and narrative identity of laughter triggers’, ‘interpreting the self-concept of laughter triggers through emotional and narrative identity analysis’, ‘analyzing aspects of narrative identity through identification of emotional turbulence’, ‘analyzing one's beliefs or value system through narrative identity analysis’, and ‘expanding desirable beliefs or values through faith or value system interpretation’.
