Abstract
This article discussed how the imaging of a woman's 'seen' body in contemporary novels is subordinated to the male gaze and value system, what is the social gaze that allows women to image their bodies as 'rejected', and the emotional turbulence experienced by a woman with a body shown. In addition, how the reader's narrative identity can be developed through understanding the emotional turbulence of a woman with a body shown was discussed. The discussion of a woman's body was divided into 'image of the body shown', 'self-awareness that it is a rejected body', and 'emotional turbulence in the narrative of the woman's body shown'. And the development of the reader's narrative identity through understanding and interpretation of the emotional turbulence of a woman with a body shown was discussed in terms of preparing an opportunity to interpret real life through understanding and interpretation of the narrative of a woman whose body is objectified, cultivating a critical attitude toward the gaze and ideology embedded in the value system that sees and objects the woman's body, and seeking the development of narrative identity through the search for authenticity aimed at the common good.
