Abstract
The purpose of this study was to identify the effect of the same combined exercise on the physical fitness, blood lipid profile, and psychosocial variables of obese person according to body fat loss or no body fat loss for 12 weeks. The subjects of the study were 26 obese adults (body fat percentage 30% or higher) who participated in a complex exercise program at a health center in City C. Among these, the subjects were divided into a body fat reduction group (14 subjects) who lost more than 3% of their body fat and a non-body fat reduction group (12 subjects), and the following results were obtained after analyzing physical fitness, blood lipids, and psychological variables. Among the health physical fitness variables, maximal oxygen uptake significantly decreased after the test compared to before at each time point, and especially in the case of the body fat reduction group, positive changes were evident. All life physical fitness variables such as flexibility, muscle strength, and muscle endurance also significantly increased after the test compared to before. In terms of blood lipid variables, TC and LDL were significantly reduced after the treatment compared to before, and in terms of social and psychological variables, variables such as dietary efficacy, exercise habits, and nutritional habits showed statistically significant improvements in the body fat reduction group compared to the non-reduction group. After 12 weeks of combined exercise, overall, positive changes were observed after the exercise compared to before, and the dietary efficacy, exercise habits, and nutritional habits were found to be more positive in the body fat reduction group than in the non-body fat reduction group.
