Abstract
Examining the evolution of development economics from 'Structuralism' through Washington Consensus to Post-Washington Consensus, this paper shows the recent development of development economics contains the traditional methodological issues such as micro-foundations of macro phenomena and the relation of state and economy. This issues are expressed in the debates of information-theoretic approach of New Keynesian economics and the debates of 'social capital' as 'missing link' of development. This paper argues the alternative development economics should respond these challenges with the radical views of institutionalism, Keynesian and political economy approach- so called 'the other canon'.
