초록

공공조직과 사조직 간의 차이점의 유무에 대해서는 아직도 논란이 있다. 이러한 맥락에서 본 연구는 공사 조직 간에 변혁적거래적 리더십의 효과성에 차이가 있는지를 실증적으로 분석해 보는 것이다. 이러한 목적으로 진행된 본 연구의 분석결과를 요약해보면 다음과 같다. 첫째, 변혁적 리더십과 거래적 리더십은 모두 조직효과성에 정적 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 즉 변혁적 리더십과 거래적 리더십은 모두 조직몰입, 직무만족, 조직시민행동의 순으로 유의한 정적 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 변혁적 리더십은 거래적 리더십보다 조직효과성에 더 높은 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 즉 변혁적 리더십은 직무만족, 조직몰입, 조직시민행동 모두에 대해서 거래적 리더십보다 더 높은 정적 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 셋째, 변혁적 리더십은 조직효과성의 하위구성개념 중 직무만족을 제외한 조직몰입과 조직시민행동에 미치는 영향이 공공조직보다 사조직에서 더 높은 것으로 나타났다. 그러나 거래적 리더십은 세 가지 경우 모두 공사 조직 간에 차이가 없는 것으로 나타났다.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to find the effect of transformational/transactional leadership on organizational effectiveness in public organization with that in private organization. To accomplish this research objective, this study collected data from 458 employees in public and private organizations and surveyed with questionnaire method. The result of this empirical study is summarized as followings; First, transformational leadership has a positive effect on organizational effectiveness, and transactional leadership is the same. Second, transformational leadership has stronger effect on organizational effectiveness than transactional leadership. Third, in organizational commitment and organizational citizenship behavior, the effect of transformational leadership on organizational effectiveness is stronger in private organization than in public organization. Forth, the effect of transactional leadership on organizational effectiveness is no difference between private and private organization.
