이 글은 토론식 수업을 통해 읽기와 쓰기, 말하기를 통합적으로 교육하는 방법을 제시하는 데 있다. 실제로 대학 교육에서 토론식 수업을 한다고 하면서도 어떤 방식으로 하는 것이 토론식 수업에 적절하며, 어떤 효과를 거둘 수 있는지, 또한 이를 글쓰기에 어떻게 활용하는지에 대한 논의는 여전히 교수자의 개인적 경험에 의존하고 있는 실정이다. 이에 이 글은 소설 교육을 토론식 수업으로 운용하여 통합적인 언어교육을 할 수 있는 보다 구체적이고 효과적인 수업 방식을 제시하고자 한다. 읽기 교육에 있어 토론식 수업은 말하기, 듣기, 읽기, 쓰기 교육을 총체적으로 할 수 있으며, 텍스트 분석력이 길러 질 수 있고, 무엇보다 교수의 강의 중심이 아니라 학생참여형 수업, 과정중심형 수업이 될 수 있는 의의가 있다. 토론식 수업을 할 때 교수자가 유의할 점을 고려하고자 한다. 제일 먼저 준비되어야 할 사항은 대상 텍스트의 선정 문제이다. 어떤 점을 고려하여 선정하여야 가장 적절할 것인지 살펴볼 것이다. 또한 실제 토론을 할 때 해당 텍스트에서 어떻게 논제를 선정하여 토론할 것인가를 살펴볼 것이다. 이후 토론식 수업에서 학생들을 어떻게 준비하도록 지도할 것인가도 고려하여야 한다. 논제를 정할 때는 텍스트 분석을 통한 다양한 논제를 학생들이 토의하게 하고, 그중 가장 핵심이 되는 논제로 결정한다. 논거는 토론 논제에 따라 텍스트 내에서 찾는 방법을 지도하는 방법을 제시하였다. 토론식 수업은 준비에서부터 실제 토론, 토론 후 과정을 통해 분석력과 표현력 등을 향상시킬 수 있도록 조정되어야 함을 밝혔다. 둘째로, 에리히 프롬의 「자유로부터의 도피」, 이문열의 「우리들의 일그러진 영웅」과 전상국의 「우상의 눈물」을 통해 논제를 마련해 보았다. 셋째로 토론과정과 글쓰기 교육을 연결시켜 보았다. 토론한 논거를 바탕으로 논술문 쓰기를 지도하면 비판력, 논증력, 표현력을 증진시키는 글쓰기 교육이 될 수 있다. 넷째로 평가 부분에서 교수가 미리 고려해야 할 사항과 실제 수업에서의 수업 이전의 준비도, 토론과정에서의 논증 능력과 분석력, 토론 후 논술문의 쓰기 능력 평가 등의 문제를 짚어보았다. 또한 이러한 일련의 과정을 모형화함으로써 수업 과정 전체를 유기적으로 구성하여 보다 효율적으로 진행될 수 있도록 도표화하였다. 토론식 수업으로 읽기 교육을 할 때, 텍스트의 분석력이 길러질 수 있으며, 텍스트를 읽는 관점의 타당성을 검증해보는 과정이 토론 과정임을 증명한 것이라고 생각된다. 일반적 토론식 교육 방법을 읽기 교육에 적용한 이 글이 학생들 스스로가 텍스트를 분석하고 정리하고 논점을 찾아내는 능력을 키우는 데 이바지하여, 읽기 교육의 실천적면서도 효과적인 방향을 제시할 수 있을 것으로 본다.
Abstract
This article suggest the way of teaching on reading, writing and speaking together through using discussion classes. In fact, actual college education, the discussion is still dependent on the teacher's personal experience when it comes to discussion class. So this article indicates the way for integrated management of language education in reading instruction can be more specific and effective teaching method. For Instruction reading, discussion class can be a integrate education of speaking, listening, reading and writing, Above all, it's not a professor's lecture, it can be a learner-centered and progress-centered lecture. For this progress, the first necessity is teacher's attention note. First step is selection about the target text. Some points should be selected for a look that would be most appropriate. In addition, when the actual debate on the text will discuss how the thesis will examine selected. Next, it should be considered how to students be prepared for after discussion class. When decide issues, students will discuss issues presented themselves, and decide the most important issues. This article showed the instruction model for finding the arguments within the text. Also discussion class should be controlled to improve article analyzes, expression ability through the progress from a preparation to real debate. when instruct reading classes using discussion way, the progress of discussion would be the progress to verify the validity of perspective. This article contribute students to raise the ability of analyzing, summary, and finding issues themselves through these practical training.
