換骨奪胎는 문학작품을 창작할 때 前代 작가의 作品에 나타난 뜻을 발전적으로 변화시켜 작가 자신의 작품에 쓰는 作法이다. 松江의 <星山別曲> 序詞 중에 나오는 “天孫雲錦을 뉘라셔 버혀내여”는 蘇東坡의 시 <潮州韓文公墓碑> 속의 “天孫爲織雲錦裳, 飄然乘風來旁旁” 구절에서 모방은 하였지만, 그 뜻이 발전적으로 사용되어 <성산별곡>의 내용이 더욱 돋보이게 한 뛰어난 換骨奪胎의 예가 된다. “和風이 習習야 兩腋을 추혀드니, 九萬里 長空애 져기면 리로다”라는 <關東別曲>의 한 구절도 蘇東坡의 <赤壁賦>의 “羽化而登仙”에서 모방한 것으로 換骨奪胎이다. 그러나 松江은 단순히 모방에 그친 것이 아니라, ‘뼈를 바꾸어 놓고 태를 빼앗듯이’ 이미 있었던 말의 뜻을 발전적으로 변화시켜 換骨奪胎를 한 것이다. 이처럼 松江은 換骨奪胎를 통해서 뛰어난 문학적 역량을 발휘하고 있다.
Abstract
Hwan-gol-tal-tae[換骨奪胎] expressed in Song-gang's[松江] Seong-san-byeol-gok[星山別曲] and Gwan-dong-byeol-gok[關東別曲] Yun, In-hyun Hwan-gol-tal-tae[換骨奪胎] is a kind of writing method by which a writer develops and improves the meaning appeared in the literary works of former writers. The target of Hwan-gol-tal-tae may be all of the poetry and prose by earlier writers. Hwan-gol-tal-tae is composed of Hwan-gol[換骨法] and Tal-tae[奪胎法]. Generally, a writer is interested in creating a new meaning whenever he or she tries to create a literary work. By the way, however excellent the writer may be, it is impossible for him or her to make a new literary output without being influenced by the products of the writers who lived before. In fact, in Korean and Chinese literary criticisms are found lots of comments in which writers say or confess their literary origin from some earlier literary works. If the former literary works are not improved or developed into a new meaning, then the newly created work is evaluated as plagiarism. But if the writer can induce a new meaning which is better than the previous works, then we call it Hwan-gol-tal-tae. For example, even though Song-gang imitates a lot of earlier works, there are no traces of plagiarism. Therefore I tried to reevaluate Song-gang's literary capability by analyzing Hwan-gol-tal-tae expressed in Seong-san-byeol-gok[星山別曲] and Gwan-dong-byeol-gok[關東別曲].
