敎育 현장에서 '感覺 이미지'는 機械的인 분류에 따라 類型化 되어 있다. 리차즈, 파운드 등의 所論에서 感覺 이미지를 深層的으로 理解한 金起林과, 르네 웰릭 등 신비평의 영향 속에서 이를 理解한 以後의 論議들을 살펴봄으로써 그 이유를 추적해 보았다. 이미지를 단순히 '五知覺'의 範疇로 分類하거나, 이를 설명하면서 詩語나 詩句 자체가 直接的으로 感覺的인 느낌을 주는 것처럼 서술하는 것은 問題가 있다. 중요한 것은, 이미지 상에서 일어나는 心理學的인 상황이나 시 全體的인 분위기 및 構造와 관련된 이미지의 效果이며 組織化이다. 이미지는 繪畵的 再現(picture representation)이 아니라 한 순간의 知的이며 感情的인 복합체로서, 분리된 관념들을 통합하는 知的 행위이다. 따라서 感覺 이미지는 상징과 은유의 보다 深層的인 詩的 언어와의 關係性 속에서 理解되어야 하며, 시 전체의 주제와 사상과 관련해 統合的으로 설명될 수 있어야 한다.
Abstract
This paper is aimed at researching problems, especially the concept of Imagism and sensible images, in the education of poetry. In many reference books and even text books, have made many mistakes about them. Generally, images are divided according to sensory organ, so we do it as visual image, auditory image, tactile image, olfactory image, gustatory image etc. And the ways of explaining it are so nive and routine. Students tend to understand the concept ‘image' by route. But ‘image' is very profound and essential concept in education of poetry and key word to explain poems. the concept image is to connect with symbol and metaphor, inner and deeper concept. We guess the origin of present's situation go back to New Criticism in 195, 60's. Actually earlier origin was Kim Ki Rim's. But both need not have responsible for it. Rather than, Some writers have made a mistake to render down image and divided it by rule. In poetry, almost sensible images are synesthetic, so we can not feel with it as divided things. So I make some counter-proposals in this paper. Some supplements need to be done. Organic image and kinesthetic image have to be added. We have to teach image relates with symbol and metaphor so much to students and when relating with them image getting profounder and deeper. There for it, the education of image is essential in convergence education and creative thinking activities. Now, the education ways of image need to be changed.
