청소년의 지역사회 문제해결을 위한 유스필란트로피 활동 평가: 청소년배분위원회 참여자를 중심으로

이 연구는 청소년들이 지역사회 참여를 통한 유스필란트로피 활동에서 어떠한 변화가 나타나는지 탐색하기 위하여 청소년배분위원회 프로그램에 참여한 청소년들의 변화를 평가한 것이다. 질적 및 양적연구방법을 혼합하여 중고등학생 참여자 12명의 변화를 조사하였다. 심층인터뷰를 통해 활동을 통한 변화와 배분의 경험과 의미를 탐색하고, 사회문제 해결 인식, 리더십 생활능력과 비판적 사고력 수준의 변화를 실험-통제집단 비교방법으로 설문조사를 통해측정하였다. 그 결과 질적조사와 양적조사 모두에서 청소년들의 사회문제 해결에 대한 인식과참여의향, 집단활동 기술, 자기이해와 관계성이 향상되었음을 일관성 있게 확인 할 수 있었다. 질적조사 결과 청소년이 사회문제에 대해 비판적으로 분석하고 편견을 깨고 주도적으로 문제해결을 위한 의사결정 과정을 밟으면서 성장한 것이 드러난 반면, 양적조사 결과 비판적 사고성향에 대해서는 유의미한 차이가 나타나지 않았다. 이러한 결과를 통해 지역사회 문제해결을위한 청소년 참여의 중요성과 청소년배분위원회 프로그램의 의미를 드러내고, 학교와 지역사회에서 한국형 유스필란트로피 활동의 가능성을 제언하였다
Abstract
This study evaluated the outcomes for youth who participated in the Youth Allocation Committee program in Korea, developed as one of the youth philanthropy activities. The participants included 12 middle and high school students, and a responsive evaluation method was employed. Interviews were conducted to explore the meaning of allocation and the changes experienced through the activity. Additionally, leadership skills, critical thinking tendencies, and social problem-solving abilities were measured through an experimental-control group comparison method. The results of both qualitative interviews and quantitative surveys consistently confirmed improvements in the youths' awareness and willingness to participate in solving social problems, as well as enhancements in group activity skills, self-understanding, and relationships. Qualitative interviews revealed that the youth participants developed critical analysis skills for social problems, broke down prejudices, and took the lead in decision-making to solve problems. However, there was no statistically significant difference in critical thinking tendencies. In conclusion, this study discussed the importance of youth participation and the significance of the Youth Allocation Committee. It also suggested the potential for Korean-style youth philanthropy activities.
