현대중국어 给의 同一性에 관한 고찰 ― 给VP를 중심으로

본 연구는 선행 연구에 대한 검토를 토대로, 현대 중국어 给의 동일성 관점에서 VP 앞에 출현하는 给의 다양한 용법에 대해 통일된 설명을 제공하고자 한다. 본 연구는 '주다'라는 给의 원형적 의미에서 출발하여, 给가 나타내는 수여 사건 중 수여자, 수령자, 그리고 수여 대상물의 세 가지 요소를 포함하고 있으며, 그중 给는 '받는 것'이 아닌 '주는 것'에 직접적인 관련이 있다고 본다. 또한, 본고는 수여 대상물이 전형적인 사물 NP일 수 있지만, 행위 혹은 사건을 나타내는 VP로도 나타날 수 있다고 본다. 본고는 다양한 사례를 통해 VP 앞의 给가 행위 또는 사건에 영향을 가한다는 가영향의 의미를 제안하고, 이는 동사 给의 수여 의미와 일맥상통한다고 주장한다. '给VP' 구조에 대해 본고는 给는 의미상 항상 대상자 혹은 피영향자 NP를 동반하고, 소위 '给VP' 구조는 '给 NP VP'에서 NP가 생략된 후 겉으로 드러나는 양상일 뿐이라고 본다.
Abstract
Based on existing studies, this paper attempts to provide a unified explanation of the various usages of pre-VP 'Gei' from the perspective of the identity of 'Gei' in modern Chinese. Starting from the prototypical meaning of the verb 'Gei', this paper argues that the giving event expressed by 'Gei' contains three elements: the giver, the receiver, and the given object. In addition to the typical object NP, the given object can also be expressed as an action or event VP. In this paper, we argue that the semantic focus of 'Gei' in the event of giving lies in 'giving授', rather than 'receiving受'. And through various examples, this paper demonstrates the meaning of 'affecting' before VP which has the influence of 'action' or 'event' and argues that the meaning of 'affecting' is in line with the meaning of 'give' of the verb 'Gei'. Regarding the 'Gei VP' structure, this paper argues that 'Gei' is often semantically accompanied by a recipient (or affected entity) NP, and the so-called 'Gei VP' structure is simply the syntactic surface showing the 'Gei VP' structure after 'Gei NP VP' omits the NP.
