Abstract

This research focuses on critical reviews the field of Korean Chinese poetry literature during the Qing dynasty and research examines Chinese scholars' critics on Chosun's poetry related Chinese literature. We appreciate the total 22 volumes of Chosun's poetry related Chinese literature, such as Chosun selected poetry 3 volumes, which are complied by through the friendship between Chosun literary men and the Qing dynasty scholars, 10 selected poems and 6 exhibitions of illustrated poems compiled by the Qing dynasty scholars, and 3 written essays and notes. The research examines Chinese scholars' critics on Chosun Chinese poetry through forms of literature's preface, selected articles, exhibitions of illustrated poems, and the debated poetry compilation. Chinese scholars appreciated throughly on Chosun's literary men's poems through the form of literature's preface. Chinese scholars aimed to evaluate the accomplishments and knowledge of Chosun's literary men's poets in terms of corresponding with Chinese scholars' personal interests. The Qing dynasty scholars, through this evaluation, disclosed their intention of 'a history of poetry' of Chinese poetry literature, which collected through the visit to Korea. Criticisms on the Chosun's poetry are different depending upon the tendency of editors' poetic ethos. For instance, some editors have the conservative perception of poetry's theories and followed these poetry's theories when they selected Chinese poetry written by Chosun's poets. There is a difference when the editors selected Chosun's Chinese poetry according to the good appreciation of Tang's poetry, Song's poetry and togetherness of Tang's poetry and Dang's poetry. We apprehend well the evaluation of Chosun Chinese poetry in terms of the form of the debated poetry compilation during this period. Chosun's poetry related Chinese literature compiled by Chinese scholars in the 19th century, considered as the highly valued position by obtaining favourable criticism and comments, and returned to Chosun through the communication process. We understand the true nature of the possession of Chinese poetry and intercultural exchanges between Korea and China during this period. The Chosun's poetry related Chinese literature, which compiled by the Qing dynasty's scholars, will be used a valuable data for comparative study and cultural exchange between Korea and China. This kind of research will be very important to examine to understand a literary history and cultural exchange between Korea and China in the future.
