『朝鮮王朝實錄』に見られる日本人名の 音譯表記法に関する研究（１)

Abstract

An article on Japan in the Annals of the Joseon Dynasty states several names of Japanese written in Chinese characters. In the text of “The Annals of the Joseon Dynasty”, the names of Japanese in Chinese characters as 都時羅to-si-ra(藤四郎), 多郞高羅ta-rang-ko-ra(太郎五郎) can de identified.　Research on these transcriptions using Korean pronunciation of Chinese characters can be a valuable resource for understanding the research of foreign language transliteration and the history of phonology.　This study examines Japanese place names written in “The Annals of the Joseon Dynasty,” compares them with their current names, and analyzes the phonetic value of each phoneme and the orthography of Japanese sounds.　In this study, 48 cases in the first half of the Annals were investigated and analyzed to reconstruct Japanese names.　One of the key findings is to identify the Chinese character notation system in the Japanese language. In particular, the possibility of phonographic data was confirmed in the transcription method.　Here, 48 cases of transliteration were reconstructed in Japanese, and the remaining some 350 examples is expected to be studied in the same manner before the results can be published in the near future.
