Abstract

This thesis is a case study of the Japanese Database Utilization course in the Japanese language department's IT convergence major. This major has been offered for fourteen years, from 2009 to the present, and it is an IT convergence education for undergraduates that can be used for Japanese language learning using a database and can prepare students for the current situation of the fourth revolution era. In the age of artificial intelligence, database is a fundamental field and component. In addition, even in fields where artificial intelligence is not utilized, it possesses characteristics applicable to data-based work. This Japanese database application course is essential for the programming languages JAVA, Python, and web. In addition to basic data analysis skills, it is essential for undergraduate students to advance in the field of programming. This department focuses on developing IT engineers in Japan and Korea when implementing IT convergence education for undergraduate students. In this study, the Faculty of Japanese Studies attempted to operate database courses as an optimal educational method for students of the Faculty of Japanese Language, so that it could be utilized for the Japanese language learning of students. In addition, we examined the fundamental curriculum for becoming a programmer in the IT industry. The Faculty of Japanese Language anticipates that this study will serve as a resource for institutions that wish to implement IT convergence education on their own.
