본 연구는 충남 읍⋅면지역을 대상으로 인구규모 변화 경향과 인구이동의 시계열적 변화를 살펴보고 인구변화에 대한 지역적 특성을 고찰하였다. 이를 위해 인구규모 변화 형태에 따른 유형화와 유형별 인구이동 변화 특성을 살펴보았다. 먼저, 인구분포의 변화를 살펴보면 수도권과의 접근성이 좋은 지역이거나 산업기반이 양호한 몇몇 지역에서는 인구규모의 증가 모습을 보였으나, 대다수의 읍⋅면지역은 지속적 감소나 감소전환형의 모습을 보였다. 또한 중간 규모의 인구를 보이던 읍⋅면의 개 수는 감소하였고, 3천명 이하의 인구규모를 보이는 읍⋅면의 개수는 증가하여 지역의 과소화가 심화되고 있었다. 다음으로 인 구이동 형태의 변화를 살펴보면 충남지역 외 동지역과 상호간 이동이 많이 나타났으며, 면지역에서 읍지역으로의 이동형태는 증가를 보였다. 이는 상대적으로 정주여건이 양호한 지역으로 인구가 이동하는 것이라고 판단되기에 주민 삶의 질 유지를 위한 방안 모색이 필요하다.
Abstract
This study examines the trends of population change and time-series patterns of population migration in the Eup and Myeon areas of Chungcheongnam-do. For this purpose, the areas were classified by the type of population change, and the migration characteristics of each type were analyzed. First, the population increased in some areas with good access to metropolitan regions or with a good industrial base, while most eup and myeon areas showed a continuous decrease or a transition to decline. In addition, the number of eup and myeon areas with a medium population decreased, while the number of areas with a population of less than 3,000 increased, leading to regional underpopulation. Next, regarding changes in population migration, there was significant mutual migration between the Dong areas outside Chungnam and the eup and myeon areas. Additionally, the migration from myeon areas to eup areas increased. This trend is assumed to reflect migration to areas with relatively better living conditions, so there is a need to develop measures to maintain residents’ quality of life.
