근대문학에 나타난 ‘만주’ 표상-‘만주국’ 건국 이후의 소설을 중심으로

식민지 시기 “만주(Manchuria)”는 조선인의 생활권(life sphere)이었다. 만주의 조선인은 종족적 정체성은 조선인, 거주지는 중국, 국적은 중국 혹은 일본을 선택해야 하는 삼중의 정체성의 경계에 놓여 있었다. 애스닉 집단이자 경계인의 측면을 지니고 있었던 재만조선인과 그 문학을 현재 대한민국(ROK)이라는 국가정체성과 동일한 주체로 상정하는 것은 잘못된 것이다. 그것은 또한 근대 동아시아를 배경으로 한 트랜스내셔널(transnational)한 만주 경험을 해방 이후의 내셔널한 국민국가의 주체성으로 재단하는 것이기도 하다. 본고는 이러한 내셔널한 접근에서 벗어나 식민지 시기에 쓰여진 소설 텍스트에 표상된 다양한 층위의 ‘만주’의 모습과 만주국 이데올로기와의 관계를 구상화하는 작업이다.
Abstract
The idea of Manchuria in modern literature ― centering around novels after the founding of a State of Manchuria Jung, Jong-Hyun During colonial-period "Manchuria" was a life sphere of Chosunese. Chosunese in Manchuria had triple identities: they were Chosunese in terms of their racial identities, Chinese their domiciles, and either China or Japan their nationalities. Chosunese and their literature in Manchuria as an ethnic group and boundary people should not be presented as the same subject as the national identity of current ROK because it is that the transnational Manchurian experience with modern east-Asia for background is judged by the subjectivity of the national nation-state after the liberation. This paper expresses concretely the relationship between the various picture of 'Manchuria' and the ideology of a State of Manchuria that was presented in the novel texts written during the colonial period.
