실존적 인본주의 관점에서 본 평생교육의 의미 및 개념 정의에 관한 고찰

본 논문의 목적은 실존적 인본주의 관점에서 평생교육의 의미 및 평생교육의 개념 정의를 탐색하는 데 있다. 이를 위해 본 연구는 평생교육의 의미와 범주는 ‘평생’ 개념에 달려 있으며, ‘평생’의 핵심적인 철학은 실존적 인본주의라는 전제하에 논의를 진행하였다. 먼저, 평생교육의 정의에 관한 문제제기와 필요성을 논하고, 실존적 인본주의 관점에서의 삶과 평생의 의미를 유네스코 평생교육 문헌과 연계시켜 분석하였다. 이어 평생교육의 의미와 특징을 각자성 창조, 경험학습, 비연속적 과정, 액체화의 교육, 리좀형의 교육 등 다섯 가지 관점에서 고찰하였다. 마지막으로 들로 보고서가 제시한 대로 다양한 평생교육 활동 속에 공통적으로 실현해야 할 네 가지 학습기둥을 제시하고, 이를 바탕으로 평생교육의 정의를 도출하였다.
Abstract
The purpose of the paper was, from the perspective of existential humanism, to explore the meaning and the conceptual definition of lifelong education. The paper went ahead under the premise that the meaning and scope of lifelong education depends on the comprehension of ‘lifelong’, and the core philosophy of lifelong is existential humanism. This paper firstly examined the meaning of the concept of lifelong, leading to the analysis of the relationship between the philosophy and UNESCO lifelong education. Subsequently, the meaning of lifelong education was explored from five perpectives: individuality, experiencial learning, non-continuity, education of liquid, and rhyzomatic education. Finally it attempted to define the lifelong education based on the four pillars of learning which should be realized across various lifelong education activities.
